White Christmas
“There’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.”
Canada has to be the coldest country I’ve been to in my life.
Windsor • Niagara Falls • Toronto
My friends Jonathan and Valentina invited me to spend Christmas with them and their family in Canada. We flew from MIA to DTW and drove across the border to Windsor to a beautifully lit Christmas house. This precious winter wonderland house wasn’t the only thing waiting for us... just a few moments into Canadian territory, tiny white pieces of clouds began falling from the sky. I had seen snow before, but never on Christmas Eve.
It was an unforgettable white Christmas
The next morning, we hopped into a car and drove 4 hours to Niagara Falls, where we finished our Christmas Day. I was scarred that night... I’d never experienced such cold temperatures. At 7°F my toes, fingers, and face were all absent of feeling. I took as many pictures as I could before running into a public restroom to use the hand dryer as a full body heater.
The next morning, after getting one last view of the falls, we headed to Toronto. The temperature of Drake’s City wasn’t any different, which made walking around downtown a challenge.
Under blue skies, a white blanket covered the ground of the famous CN tower. We had lunch there but didn't get a chance to go up to the observatory. Meaning, I need to go back and get that killer Toronto downtown shot...
This winter break was filled with movies, Mortal-Kombat fights, naps, junk food and shoots around beautiful peaceful places. I am extremely grateful for amazing friends who consider me close enough to spend Christmas with them. It was a much needed get-a-away for me personally, and what better place than a true cold white winter break?!
